A little bit about me
Hello and welcome, my name is Holly Hamp and I am the proud owner of The Dog Spa and Holly Hamp Canine Photography! Check out my page on this site for more information on this. I have been working with dogs for over 8 years and have been a City & Guilds qualified groomer since 2018 with a canine first aid certification.
The Dog Spa has been established since July 2020 where it first opened in Harrogate. Offering a range of services from bath and brushes to full grooms and ultrasonic teeth cleaning courses.
I started my career working for a small charity called Stokenchurch Dog Rescue and then moved on to work with the Dogs Trust for the Dog School division in Huddersfield as a trainer before moving to Harrogate. Since working with these charities I found that my true passion was with grooming so I decided to gain my qualification and set up my own business.
Using the skills I have gained from my work in dog training and the experiences of handling a variety of different dog breeds in rescue you can trust that your pet is being cared for by a patient and ethical groomer. I believe in a cage free environment and groom on a 1-2-1 basis, so your dog will only have to wait for you to collect them when their groom is finished in a comfy bed to sit in without the distractions or stresses of a busy salon.
HUMANITY BEFORE VANITY
I will always be calm and patient when handling your dog and will never put them under any unnecessary stress just in order to get the ‘perfect groom’. I have a strong ethical standpoint on when enough is enough for your four legged friend and if they don’t enjoy grooming and I will keep you informed of this. That is my groomers promise. Heavily matted dogs will be shaved short as it is not possible to comb this out. Please see my matting policy under terms and conditions for more information.
I keep poodle mixes such as cockerpoos and cavapoos short and tidy for the best coat maintenance due to their risk of heavy matting so unfortunately 'teddy bear cuts' or long and fluffy styles aren't possible, Please refer to my Instagram for photo references of my style of grooming.
